Alfie
It all starts with Alfie, who has recently moved into a new home, and on discovering all the parts of a robot in his shed, the story begins. Alfie is a trusting character who likes to think things through before coming up with a plan of action. He may start off shy, but as the story goes on, you’ll see he really comes to his own, and in some ways, saves the day.
Ava
Ava is Alfie’s best friend, and they’re both really excited that Alfie’s family has moved closer to Ava’s. Ava is a true explorer at heart, she loves the thrill of adventure, finding out new things and seeing new places, as you may see in the book, it lands her in a spot of bother once or twice, but like all great friends, Ava and Alfie balance each other nicely.
B4
B4 is a robot from a long time ago, so long ago, we don’t actually know how old the robot is. From a couple of boxes in a shed, to a fully functioning robot, B4 is what makes this story possible. With the ability to travel backwards or even forwards in time, we reckon Alfie, Ava and B4 may be sneaking off on more adventures before we know it.
Alfie's Mum and Dad
Alfie’s mum and dad – all busy unpacking and settling into the new house they were pleased that Alfie and Ava were playing at the bottom of the garden (or so they thought!!) . Unknown to Alfie’s mum and dad, Alfie and Ava find B4, travel back in time, discovering how beautiful the world used to be. On their return home, mum and dad find out just how serious Alfie and Ava are about protecting planet Earth.
Diplodocus
One of the best known dinosaurs, a very large, long necked animal, which as Alfie and Ava discover first hand, looks a little scary when you are up close and personal. Of course, a diplodocus is a rather friendly dinosaur, that doesn’t eat humans, and is much more interested in plant based food.
Allosaurus
An allosaurus was a large dinosaur that lived around 150 million years ago, unlike a rather large, friendly diplodocus, allosauruses were carnivores, with big, sharp teeth. So when Alfie, Ava and B4 stumble across a hungry mob of allosauruses, we get left in nail-biting suspense, wondering if they manage to escape.
