Social housing providers are required to build properties in line with the Code for Sustainable Homes, whilst at the same time securing cheaper energy supplies for their tenants. Bromsgrove District Housing Trust achieved this at a development called Perryfields, which comprises of 158 plots and includes a mix of 1 and 2 bed apartments, 2, 3 and 4 bed houses and 2 bed bungalows.
To ensure they met the required objectives, the final specification was for 200 Greenskies solar thermal panels on 100 of the 158 plots, in combination with a high efficiency Greenstar 12Ri boiler and a Greenskies 300ltr water cylinder.
