The business was founded by Thomas Armstrong in Cockermouth in 1830 and consisted of saw mills and joinery works. Today, its operations extend across a region from Glasgow to Cheshire, from the East coast to the West coast. They have become one of the UK’s largest privately owned manufacturers of building products and suppliers of building services. Thomas Armstrong Construction Ltd won their award for an impressive new build housing project in Keswick in the Lake District, which includes 42 properties, all with a high standard of insulation. 38 of those properties have Greenskies solar panels and a Greenstar 30CDi Regular boiler to deliver highly efficient heating and hot water.
