Worcester Bosch given Quiet Mark Award for stand-out noise reduction levels
Published: 24-10-2022
We have been presented by Sir Peter Bottomly MP the Quiet Mark Award at an event in London. The award ceremony, held at the House of Commons Terrace Pavilion, on Wednesday 19th October 2022, hosted key invitees from government, local authorities, the acoustics industry, manufacturers, and academics.
As part of the NAS John Connell Awards – presented in memory of its founder, John Connell OBE, the Quiet Mark Award recognises local authorities, manufacturers and individuals who have been outstanding in their efforts to reduce the impact of noise nuisance, to pioneer practical and innovative quality solutions to mitigate noise, and in employing soundscape management to enhance the environment.
We celebrated 60 years in business this year and since trading has helped to innovate heating and hot water appliances with greener alternatives such as hydrogen-blend ready boilers, electric heat pumps and hybrid systems. The Quiet Mark 10th Anniversary Award at the NAS John Connell event celebrates manufacturers who promote the value of low-noise technology for consumer benefit, with Quiet Mark Awards given to companies such as us who have done just that.
The Noise Abatement Society (NAS) is the only UK registered charitable foundation whose sole focus is to abate excessive and unnecessary noise to protect health and well-being and improve the aural environment through positive sound management.
Products which display the Quiet Mark logo give consumers more informed choice about the products they are about to buy, and it has been shown that Quiet Mark accredited products achieve significant sales uplift – a win-win situation for both the consumer, who can enjoy a quieter home and office environment, and the manufacturer, who will likely notice a sales increase whilst demonstrating care for their customers.
Martyn Bridges, our Director of Technical Services at Worcester Bosch commented: ‘’It is fantastic to be recognised by Quiet Mark and as with all the products we manufacture, we place the consumer at the centre of design, practicality and function. Whether it’s creating home heating systems that reduce carbon emissions or developing new technology that can reduce noise levels and make for a better consumer experience, we hope to continue building a strong portfolio of Quiet Mark certified products that consumers can enjoy for years to come.’’
